How to play
- Destroy all 20 enemy tanks to clear a stage.
- Protect the server at the bottom – if it is hit, the game is over.
- Bricks break, steel does not (until your cannon is fully upgraded). Bullets fly over water, tanks cannot.
- Flashing tanks drop power-ups: shield, cannon upgrade, freeze, steel walls, extra life and EMP.

About Byte Tanks
Byte Tanks is an original 8-bit tank shooter inspired by the classic console era. Every stage sends 20 enemy tanks at your base – a server at the bottom of the map – and you have to stop them all before one of them hits it.
The map is part of the tactics: brick walls break under fire, steel holds until your cannon is fully upgraded, bullets fly over water but tanks cannot cross it, and bushes hide you from the enemy. Flashing tanks drop power-ups: a shield, cannon upgrades, a freeze, steel walls around the server, an extra life or an EMP.
Play alone or with a friend on one keyboard; on a phone you get on-screen controls. All graphics and sounds are made in code, so there is nothing to download, and the best scores land on the leaderboard.
